Anna Margarita A Geronimo, OD
Dr. Geronimo grew up in San Francisco. She received her undergraduate degree from UC Davis. She graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry and enjoyed getting to live down south for a few years. After graduating from optometry school, she moved back up to the Bay Area to do a residency program through the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in Primary Care and Rehabilitative Optometry at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Dr. Geronimo has a passion for helping the visually-impaired and also works once per week at the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired where she is a low vision specialist.
Being in private practice at Family Focus Optometry since 2001, she has loved watching her patients of all ages grow into different stages of their lives. She is honored that her patients have trusted her to help them achieve their best possible visual function and watch over their ocular health.
Outside of work, Dr. Geronimo enjoys traveling with her husband, daughter, and sometimes even their dog. She also likes to spend time giving back to the community by serving her church and various philanthropic organizations.

Joanna Leong, OD
Dr. Leong started her formative years in South San Francisco, then later, on the East Bay, in Fremont. She received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, before graduating from the State University of New York, State College of Optometry. She returned to the Bay Area for her Primary Care and Rehabilitative Optometry residency, where she worked alongside Dr. Geronimo. They have been practicing together here in San Leandro since 2001. Seeing low vision rehabilitation happen (as an undergraduate at the Optometry Clinic on campus) is the reason Dr. Leong pursued a career in optometry. She continues to enjoy a part-time position as a low vision specialist for the VA.
Dr. Leong encourages healthy vision habits. She enjoys helping people of all ages to see their best, in the most comfortable way possible, while screening for ocular complications from systemic issues.
Outside of optometry, she is active in her faith and Scouts BSA communities, and enjoys the challenge of keeping up with her children and border collie.
